Lamisil Lawsuits

Lamisil is a medication for the treatment of onychomycosis, or fungus of the nail. The FDA issued a public health advisory warning physicians of the link between Lamisil and hepatic adverse events. The Lamisil risks include liver failure that can lead to death or liver transplant. Manufacturer Novartis Pharmaceuticals revised the labeling for Lamisil in the Warnings, Precautions, and Adverse Reactions sections.
The FDA received 16 reports of liver failure cases in Lamisil patients as of April 2001. In addition, prescribing errors have occurred instead of prescribing Lamisil patients have received Lamictal, an anti-epileptic.
