Viga Lawsuits

Viga and Viga for Women dietary supplement pills sold on the Internet and over the counter were recalled on May 23, 2003. FDA investigators found Viga contained a prescription drug ingredient that can cause serious and deadly side effects in many users. As a result, all Viga consumers were advised to immediately discontinue using Viga and to return the Viga to the stores it was purchased at. The prescription ingredient sildenafil discovered in Viga is the same one found in Viagra.

Erectile dysfunction is often a concurrent condition in patients with diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, smokers, and patients with ischemic heart disease and so using Viga alongside nitrate users is a strong possibility. Taking Viga  with prescription nitrates can lead to a deadly drop in blood pressure. Viga had been marketed as a natural alternative without side effects of prescriptions, but sildenafil was not included on Viga labeling. It is not legal to manufacture and distribute a prescription drug in a dietary supplement like Viga.
